LA SICUREZZA DEGLI OGGETTI
La sicurezza degli oggetti, solo show of Annabel Elgar, opens on the 17th November 2021 at NonostanteMarras on the occasion of Photo Vogue 2021.
The works inside the exhibition create a composition of a meticolous and precises research path located on the border between reality and fiction. The artist starts from a completely empty space, it gets gradually populated with objects, found or created by the artist, that inhabit the palce and interact with wach other in unexpected ways. Inside Elgar's work we find abandoned and anonymous places that can be transformed into something else. An 'allegorical bricolage' that gives shape to the imagination, often disturbed, of equally imaginary characters, between myth and legend.
La sicurezza degli oggetti creates a narration between objects sculpted, photographed, embroidered on canvas or assembled. They all have in common an approach to reseach that lies halfway between the obsessiveness of finder and the expertise of the craftsman.
