METRONOM presents Structure of a Flow, an exhibition with the works of the artists Kenta Cobayashi (Tokyo, 1992) and Hiva Alizadeh (Kerman, 1989).
Structure of a Flow investigates and compares the practices of two artists, of the same generation but with a different background of experiences and studies. Cobayashi studied painting and later 'met' photography. Hiva Alizadeh is a self-taught person who began his career as director and then shifted his research to installation and painting.
Both artists relate to the pictorial tradizions of their country: Cobayashi transports the bruschstrocker that characterize the art of Japanese calligraphy into the digital world, Alizadeh translates the art of Islamic carpet weaving using synthetic hair to create pictorial compositions. The two artists therefore propose an actualization of these traditions not to be seen as only experimentation but that pursues a thought and a vision that aims to redefine the paradigms and canons of making art.
The press kit is available here.
