EKPYROSIS | DIGITAL VIDEO WALL
Ekpyrosís (2021) by Léa Porré is the fourth screening of the Rabbit Hole programming curated by Gemma Fantacci on the occasion of the fourth edition of the DIGITAL VIDEO WALL at Metronom.
The video work is part of the artist's practice who, through the concept of world-building, constructs more or less fictitious virtual landscapes using digital technologies such as game-engines. With Ekpyrosís Léa Porré presents a re-interpretation of the French monarchy under the control of the Sun King by creating a passage between past and contemporary ruins up to the eruption of a volcano right under the Palace of Versailles. In doing so,Porré amazes the viewer with a new historical perception in which events iare understood as a cyclical succession of destruction and creation.
