I don't care (about football) is an artistic participatory project created by Giulia Iacolutti, involving the players of the Marangoni 105 football team. The team, founded within the Department of Mental Health at the University of Udine, comprises patients as well as staff members and supporters.
On the occasion of festivalfilosofia 2024, at Arena - Spazio Culturale in Modena, Iacolutti presents a site-specific installation of the project, a new setup curated by Marcella Manni, realized in collaboration with sound artist Nicola Di Croce, and specifically designed for the cinema space, which is reopening to the public after a restoration and renovation intervention.
The proposed installation is based on the idea of ‘play as a supplement to reality’ and finds similarities in form and substance with the structure of moving images. The temporal rhythm of cinema, divided into the first half, interval, and second half ‒ remnants of which can still be found in the venue ‒ mirrors the structure of a football match. The installation is complemented by an original sound intervention, composed by Nicola Di Croce, which combines ambient sounds with melodic and instrumental distortions.
I don't care (about football) will be on display on September Friday 13th, Saturday 14th, and Sunday 15th, from 12.00 to 20.00 at Arena - Spazio Culturale, viale Tassoni 8, Modena. Free entry.
