Metronom is proud to announce its participation in Paris Photo 2018, which will be held from 6 to 11 November 2018, with "Waves and Particles", a site-specific project by the Japanese artist Taisuke Koyama.
Waves and Particles, presented in the Prismes section, combines the artist's most recent research, which investigates and re-elaborates in an original way the behavior of light and color in natural phenomena and digital environments. The two terms that make up the title, "waves" and "particles", refer to two fundamental properties of light and together they perfectly express the essence and nature of Koyama's work, starting from the chemical and behavioral analysis of the elements, questions the observer's expectations and the ability to recognize the reality, exploring the process of image creation.
The installation presents a number of works from the Melting Rainbows, Rainbow Waves, Light Field, Pico and Pico-Infinity series, each one created from a continuous development, conceptual and material, of some previous models of artificial rainbows, entitled Rainbow Form, made by capturing the details of some rainbow-colored advertising posters located in various Tokyo vending machines.
Metronom booth for the occasion will host two artist book-signings: Rainbow Variation (2015) on Friday November 9th, at 4 pm and Entropix (2008) on Saturday Novemebr 10th, at 4.00pm.
