On the occasion of Photo Vogue Festival, Metronom, in collaboration with Antonio Marras, are pleased to present Portraits, an exhibition of new works by artist Kenta Cobayashi. The exhibition is going to be held at Nonostante Marras on Friday 15 November, at 6:30 pm.
Portraits is a selection of pictures that the Japanese artist has been collecting during his night walks around Tokyo or throughout his travels.
Cobayashi's artworks appear almost as if they were scratched images. This is the result of the research of the artists who intentionally uses dimensional interferences: the act of creating connections, perceived as interconnections between different universes, is the idea of time and space that the artist synthesizes in his works, demonstrating how digital support makes it possible to deal with different layers of reality. The alterations created through the use of digital processing programs stand as a clear example: the carried out operations become part of his language, in an attempt to investigate, convey and express the complexity of the present.
The curator, Marcella Manni, deals with the origin of this "altered photography" in the exclusive interview with Vogue.
