GENERAZIONE CRITICA #7
STILL aLIVE
Art and sustainability between experience and production
17 March - 30 May 2021
'Tourists look at the statues and photograph them. The statues, without sight, never return the gaze. In classical tragedy, blindness is a frequent disease and, even in the Tuileries, some statues seem either blinded or (which is the same thing) condemned to the torment of those who never close their eyes because they have no eyelids' (Geoff Dyer).
The 2021 edition of Generazione Critica STILL aLIVE. Art and sustainability between experience and production aims to reflect on the production and fruition practices of contemporary artistic research, in a context that, as a result of the restrictions imposed, has seen an acceleration and increase in experiences through the digital. How can production, interaction, sharing and digital communication tools collaborate and support the creative process? How are the opportunities for fruition of contemporary art reshaped? What skills to learn, what new contexts are offered for cultural operators?
The curatorial board of this edition of Generazione Critica, composed by Marcella Manni, METRONOM; Cesare Biasini Selvaggi, Exibart editorial director; and Santa Nastro, Artribune editor-in-chief and communication manager at FMAV- Fondazione Modena Arti Visive, has foreseen a widespread structure of five appointments built as a discussion panel with professionals in the art sector and a series of live IGs that will feature artists in dedicated meetings and with IG takeover.
