On Tuesday 20 December 2022, at 18.00, the solo show by Taisuke Koyama, Lo strano ordine delle cose, will open at Metronom. The exhibition will be on view until the 19th of February 2023.
The exhibition displays a Xion of works, organized in a site-specific setting for the gallery, from the series Rainbow Waves (2013), Interface (2019) and Revive (2019), which show the research carried out by the Japanese artist on photography as language and tool. By investigating the relationship between the image and its perception, Koyama as a real scientist, poses the doubt, involving the observer in a series of questions on what it means to exhale the world with one's sight.
Lo strano ordine delle cose, taking up the homonymous book by Antonio Damasio, focuses on Koyama's research on photographic supports and their digitization: assuming an analytical attitude based on decomposition and recomposition, the artist leaves the traditional representation offered from photography to prefer an abstraction conceived as a structure of thought and reflection. The works on display, of different formats and made using different printing techniques, become a lens through which to be guided in the activity of observation.
