On Tuesday 21 March 2023, Metronom presents Autoritratto (2022), an installation by Matteo Messori inside Luogo Pazzesco, the gallery's hotspot. Messori working on a hybridization of pictorial and sculptural language creates environmental installations in which the relationship between man-nature-art is investigated and represented in its phases of concretization. Autoritratto is an artwork in which paint and matter meet to define the fragmentation and at the same time the unity of human identity. A series of tiles are distributed in the space and holding them together is a blue paint that creates a new link between shapes and materials arriving at an organic and unitary image.
Combining technical experimentation with his anthropological research, Messori creates a work capable of reflecting on individuality as it is composed of different systems and languages in relation to each other. Human, matter and art are rediscovered in an artistic intervention that plays with the host space.
