Yelena Yemchuk (Kiev - UA, 1970) lives and works in New York.
Yemchuk's practice is defined between painting and photography, through which she represents her daily life. She was born in Ukraine, when she was eleven she moved to New York, in America, she studied Visual Arts at the Parsons School of Design and later Photography at the Art Center in Pasadena. She has collaborated as a fashion photographer with Vogue, Dazed & Confused, AnOther, Numéro, TAR Magazine, The New Yorker and others. Her exhibitions include Gidropark, Gitterman Gallery, New York (2011); Ten Years After, Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation, Turin (2006); Sensitive, Dactu Foundation, New York (2004); No Vacancy, Eastwick Gallery, Chicago (2001). She has also published a series of books: Odesa, Gost Books (2022); yYY, Départ Pour L'Image (2022), Mabel, Betty & Bette, Kosminek Books (2021); Anna Maria, United Vagabonds (2017); Gidropark, Damiani (2011).
